2026: Retreats
In 2026, our primary form of engagement will be via virtual AND in-person retreats. We have built a team of professional educators, media-makers, artists and award winning producers to join us as we document the bffs living curriculum.

We will activate our maker community with bitesized challenges to make the curriculum more accessible for those with less time or attention span. This will give us more access to more practice space + more access to viewing one another's short form work.

Engage the modules bit-by-bit. If you are curious do just one module here and there, but when you want it, add those little bits up into a bite.
Committed
(A to B - a full bite)
Engage the modules a bite at a time. If you are committed to your creative practice and this approach, allow a module to take you through the full use of a bffs tool. You can also add the bites up into a complete project, a full meal.
Creator
(A to Z - a full meal)
Engage the content a meal at a time. If you are ready to create a complete project, use the modules and/or the courses to get there. This approach allows you to engage the practices to create a script and/or film start to finish.

A Space for Every Experience Level
Black Feminist Film School has something to offer you
at whatever level of experience, in whatever creative field or faith you walk.
We engage filmmaking inside of Black Feminist legacies. AND! We make or write a film in every cycle, every course. In 2026 we will engage our media makers through retreats and challenges next year we intend to expand into full time year round curriculum offerings.

Why consider a membership?
We created this membership approach for two reasons:
1)It is so important that everyone who WANTS to participate in Black Feminist Film School CAN participate.
2) This approach removes some of the typical barriers of entry to filmmaking, birthing possibilities for ALL ideas that come through this program to reach our creative communities.
We have found a way to share learning tools in real time and at the same time create a way for you to access the tools at your own pace. We can BE IN CREATIVE PRACTICE and COMPLETE A PROCESS or CEREMONY.
